As part of an expansion policy, APSAD is embarking on a public outreach campaign it aims to communicate its self-development
plan to interest citizens by communicating the international experience in saving heritage through APSAD’s in the following Associations.
APSAD is member of EUROPA NOSTRA: since its foundation in 1963. Many national,
regional and local authorities, cultural and educational bodies, support this pan-European federation of more than
200 non-governmental heritage organizations. The Council of Europe appointed Europa Nostra as a number 1-category c
onsultant. Europa Nostra encourages the protection and enhancement of European heritage in all its elements.
With APSAD, Lebanon is the only non-European country member of this federation.
APSAD is a member and partner of Patrimoine Sans Frontières in Lebanon: APSAD has been a member since 1996. This well-known French
association locates and announces all threats weighing on the old heritage, and encourages the establishment of
solutions and the execution of specific actions.
APSAD is partner of ICOMOS in Lebanon: The International Council on Monuments and
Sites is an international non-governmental organization of professionals dedicated to the conservation of the world's
historic monuments and sites. The organization was founded in 1965, as a result of the international adoption of the
Venice Charter. Today the organization has national committees in over 107 countries. ICOMOS is UNESCO's principal
advisor in matters concerning the conservation and protection of monuments and sites. With IUCN the Wold Conservation
Unions, Icomos has an international role under the world heritage conservation to advise the World Heritage Committee
and UNESCO on the nomination of new sites to the world heritage list.
Furthermore, APSAD is member of Civitas Nostra:
since 1961.
Also APSAD collaborated with the World Monument Fund organization.
